Robert CarlSMITHPeacefully on 25th May 2026 at Ty Olwen Hospice, Swansea.

Carl, beloved husband of Christine and loving father of Robert and Catherine,
will be remembered with great affection. His seemingly endless supply of shipwreck stories
will be recalled by many with a smile.

A private cremation will be followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for Carl's life at
All Saints Church, Oystermouth on Monday 22nd June at 12.15pm.

Family flowers only please, but donations in lieu if desired may be sent to RNLI (Mumbles)

In my early years in Bishop Gore, Karl was a great support to me as a colleague. I also learnt an immense amount from him as he encouraged me in researching local history - I owe him a great deal and feel greatly saddened at his passing away.

I knew Carl for over 40 years, firstly as a school boy at Bishop Gore. I remember coxing him (in rowing pairs) on balmy summer evenings across the bay from Mumbles to the Tawe and back.
Carl was gentle, kind and thoughtful. Always having time to help and chat.
He was a stalwart of the MRC, MYC and the RNLI.
I will sorely miss him as will many others.
My thoughts are with Christine, his family and all who knew him at this time
