JanetBEATTIEIt's with heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of our much-loved mum Janet Beattie (nee Winterbottom) on Saturday 20 April 2024 at Blackburn Hospital. Janet was 85 years of age.

Janet is now at rest with her beloved late partner Peter Clarke.

Janet leaves her three daughters Karen, Lynne and Tracy, treasured granddaughter Holly, sons-in-law Andrew and David, and cousin Barbara.

In accordance with Janet's wishes, there will be a small family gathering to remember and celebrate her.

She'll be forever missed.

I am so sad at this news. We worked with Janet for many years at Accrington and Rossendale College and thought the world of her. We were only young upstarts at the college when we worked with Janet and she was already talking about her plans for retirement. She looked after us, gave us great advice and also told us off and rolled her eyes at us a lot and we loved it! We felt like we knew all her family. Her daughters Karen, Lynne and Tracy and her Peter. After she retired, we had many a lovely lunch with her (she made the best sandwiches). That picture of her is just how I think of her. Bless you Janet and thank you for being a fab colleague and friend. Claire Jarvis x
