DiedreCLAYTONBruce, Michael and Rachael are sad to announce Diedre passed away on 31st July 2022 at Hull Royal Infirmary aged 76 years of Barton-upon-Humber with her loving family by her side. Devoted wife of Bruce, mum of Michael & Dawn and Rachael & Richard, grandma of Nick, Chloe & Emily, great grandma of Isaac, sister of Gordon and friend to many. Diedre will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Service and committal to be held at Woodlands Crematorium, Scunthorpe on Wednesday 17th August 2022 at 11.20am. Family flowers only please by request, if desired donations in lieu for the British Heart Foundation may be left at the service or sent direct to the charity. By request of the family, bright colours to be worn, blue and yellow if possible. Diedre is now resting in the care of H. & H.J. Huteson & Sons, Holydyke Funeral Home, Barton-upon-Humber, DN18 5PR.

I am so sorry to hear about Diedre and cannot thank her enough for all the patience, dedication and passion she has shown over many years with both all the staff and students across North Lincolnshire and the Humber Schools. She truly was a legend and respected by all .Condolences to Bruce and the whole family.

As soon as I heard the news I was devastated. Diedre was a great friend and was basically my athletics grandma. I used to love having a drink with her at England meetings after the competition and we always had a great laugh and looked after each other. Diedre will be sorely missed by all at athletics, especially by myself.
