IanCRAVENThe Craven family are sad to announce the passing of our dad, grandad, great grandad, and loving husband to Pauline, on the 22nd of May 2025 at the age of 76.
After a private family cremation, all who knew Ian and wish to celebrate his life are very welcome at the Broad Oak in Strelley on the 26th of June.
Ian was born and bred in Nottingham, growing up in the shadow of Shipstones Brewery. After a short spell in the accountancy offices of a plumbing firm, decided he would rather be earning on the tools. Ian went on to become a prolific plumber and heating engineer for over 60 years, working on some of Nottingham's most prestigious buildings, including the Victoria Centre during the late sixties and early seventies, passing on his skills and knowledge to all around him.
Ian married his wife Pauline in 1968 and their love and devotion to each other endured throughout their 57 years together. They would go on to have 3 children, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom he adored in equal measure.
In more recent times, Ian could be found tackling a crossword or Sudoku with maybe a small glass of malt whisky to oil the cogs.
Ian will be greatly missed by all who knew him and be remembered for his funny stories of a great life lived to the full.
