Peter Greig was my friend for 60 years. He taught me how to smoke, drink, and how to chat to girls - all those years ago when we were teens at Jarrow Grammar school.
He was a lovely man, a good man, the best man at my wedding in 1971. As a foursome, with his then to be lovely wife Sandra, we did all the daft, fun things young folk did in those far off days.
And I have a thousand great memories of my mate Pete over many, many years.
I'm sad I cannot be there on this day to say a final goodbye. But I have to say thanks Peter, for all of that part of our lives.
