Here we are again Nige. It was 6 years last night that I walked up the stairs behind you and had to call Jonathan to help us make it as you were so weak. I remember thinking this will be the last time you go up the stairs. At 1am we were stood at the bedroom window looking across to The Gower, when you said ‘let’s go downstairs’.
You were unsettled but thankfully not in pain. You were so easy to look after and always positive, trying to make things easier for me to do so. It was a privilege .
Six years on and I often think of that time. The last time we watched the sunset in Mumbles, just 4 days before. I listen to the recordings of you and Jonathan laughing over some football game, and the one of you and Louise when Leia was crawling and trying to grab at her food as though she were starving. She’ll be 7 years old on 28/12, you’ve both missed out on so much. She’s so comical and very pretty. She reminds me of Louise when she was little, well in looks, grace is more like Louise in personality. My favourite recording is that of you playing shop and buying a carpet from Grace, made from her pink or blue sheep. She is a lovely young lady. So caring and kind and absolutely beautiful. She’s clever too, not that I’m biased in anyway.
Louise works hard and excels at everything she does. Jonathan does too. They both have your work ethic. Jonathan is very logical. Both are steadfast and reliable. Jonathan and Manon got engaged in the summer and looking for a home together. We couldn’t have hand picked someone lovelier. You would love her, we all do.
Look after our Evan. Smother him in love and kisses from his nana and tell him he’s so loved and missed every single day.
I changed the car yesterday.I’m sure you led me to it.
We miss you Nige.xx
