Bob was a Character, capital "C"! I first came across him in the 90's when we were setting up and then running our stand at the Royal Show. With incredible timing he and Bob Luscombe would pitch up at our stand, then UK Genetics, just when the kettle was on and the cakes were being sliced! This continued for many years with much hilarity as well.
When we set up UK Sire Services retail arm about 10 years ago, Bob joined us on a part time basis and apart from being a very good - and very fair - salesman, he introduced us to the German Holstein bull "Boss". That bull gave us the early impetus that we needed and we were forever grateful - to the point that I called him "Boss Man". Like much else from Bob - I couldn't understand his answer! He will be sadly missed but very happily remembered. Safe travels Bob.

So sorry to hear that Bob is no longer with us. He was a character of the first order and a good friend to many of us in the cattle breeding world. Loyal to his customers, Bob always sought to find the best solution for them. I was lucky to travel with Bob to both Germany and The Netherlands and my memories of these trips involve a great deal of good humour.
My sincere condolences to Barbara and the rest of Bob's family. Rest in peace Bob.

My deepest sympathy to Barbara and family on this very sad time, my dear friend Robert known to me and friends (Chick), we grew up together in Pilton and done many things together including delivering papers for the village shop, played football for Pilton and worked on the Farms milking cows.
I have many happy memories of Chick and friends over my junior years, too many to mention
Happy Days to remember.
RIP Robert l will always remember you with the greatest fondness
