Helpful book of Verses
Most bereaved people like their messages to be personal yet simple, without being trite. At the same time, they are concerned that they should display some originality and should relate especially to the departed loved one.
Why Choose In Memory Donations
Giving donations to charities or local groups in lieu of flowers at funerals has become an increasingly common trend in the UK. Industry estimates calculate that the total raised through In Memoriam donations managed by funeral directors is circa £100 million per year and growing.
By clicking 'Notify Me' on a chosen notice, we will send an email to your registered account when this notice has been either amended (updated/change of funeral arrangements) or if any content is added to that notice. This could be a tribute, candle, photo or video. This means you will never miss a tribute on an important notice.
Why Can't I Find My Tribute?
Once you have submitted your tribute on any notice, your tribute enters our moderation queue.
Here a dedicated team will check the content and process it through, making it live on the website shortly after.
Until the tribute has been successfully moderated you will be unable to see this on the intended notice.
We understand how important tributes are, so we make it our aim to have these moderated as quickly as possible.
For convenience and peace of mind, we will keep you informed via email and you will be notified to confirm the notice is live.
Our moderating team operates between 09.00-23.00 Monday-Sunday and will aim to process your tribute within 30 minutes. Tributes left outside these hours will be checked and processed as soon as possible the following day.
At funeral-notices.co.uk we aim to create a sensitive, appropriate and impartial place for all our loyal readers to browse notices, share memories of loved ones and mark special occasions with tributes. To ensure we achieve this, our moderation team will check all content which is placed online to ensure it meets these standards.
During moderation our dedicated team check every tribute, candle, photo and video to ensure all content in appropriate and contains no bad language or offensive imagery before it is visible on the site.
We reserve the right to amend any content you submit before it goes live on your chosen notice, such as removing bad language from within the wording. If we deem the entirety of the tribute / photo/ video inappropriate, we will decline this at the moderation stage and you will be notified by email that we have been unable to publish your request.
Amending your tributes
If you are a registered user, you can edit/remove any content you have personally added to the site by clicking on the pencil icon.
You cannot remove a notice from the site but should you wish to request for a notice you have placed to be taken offline you can use the contact us section to send this request.
Please include a link to the notice your tribute is on, and advise which tribute is to be removed.
Once you have made an amendment, this will be checked by our moderation team before being visible on the site, an email confirmation will then be sent when the tribute is once again live.
Should I add a tribute to a notice?
The decision to leave a tribute, light a candle or add a photo or video to a notice is purely down to you. It is free to leave as many tributes as you would like on all of the notices that are important to you.
Feedback we have had from many families is that their notice and the tributes received bring them great comfort whilst they are grieving.
Searching for a notice
Searching for a notice is quick and easy. You have the option to search specific information eg a name or search by a wider geographical area.
By clicking on a region of the map, you can view all notices placed within that area, you then have the option to search by firstname / surname or browse alphabetically.
The search bar located on the homepage allows you to search by first name, surname or keywords which may be included in the notice. You can then select the Region, Area, City / Town and narrow down to a specific date range. Hit 'Search' and any matching results will be found.
If your search does not return any matches we will show you results from the surrounding areas.
Choosing the right notice for you
Announcing the death of a family member has been a time-honoured tradition for families and loved ones, a tradition we believe should continue as life should be celebrated and never forgotten.
Death notices are sometimes placed by the Funeral Director, if you need to place the notice yourself, we hope this guide will help you to understand the different types of notices.

We are proud to receive more than 3 million visits to our site each month and 25,000 interactions including adding photos, tributes and candles on our notices. That's why people turn to funeral-notices.co.uk, making us their first choice.
