Make the most of your Online Partner benefits

Thank you again for choosing to be an Online Partner of Funeral Notices.

With everything in place, we thought we would give you a couple of tips to make sure you're getting the most out of being an Online Partner.

Activate your free advertising

Hopefully your Account Manager will have spoken with you to arrange your free digital and newspaper advertising. If not, get in touch using the form at the end of this article. Getting this set up for you is our priority. Our designer will create some artwork for you to approve, as soon as this is done we will get your adverts published in your local Reach newspaper and online at funeral-notices.co.uk.

Display your Online Partner accreditation

Your Account Manager will arrange for you to receive a certificate to display in your funeral home - if you would like more than one please let us know.

You can choose and download your Online Partner web badge yourself by visiting our Online Partner website here.

If you would like support in doing this, please get in touch using the form below.

Start making the most of having notices on your website

To make best use of the new feature on your website, make sure you advise families of your web address so they may view their notices there. If you have a business card with your contact details on, make sure your web address is on there and hand one to every family.

It is best practice to mention, within the text of a notice, how people can donate online. Include a line saying: 'Donations may be made online at examplefunerals.co.uk' - or something along those lines.

Some Online Partners choose to share their notices to their own Facebook feed. It is certainly worth promoting your website on social media and advising people to visit to view your recent funerals is a nice way to do it, as long as your tone is spot on.

Understanding where people are clicking when they visit your website is really important. If you haven't claimed your business on Google yet, make that a priority. Then you can activate Google Analytics - a vital tool in understanding what is happening on your website. Don't worry if that seems like a huge leap - we have experts on hand who can help and advise on how best to maximise the benefits of having more visitors to your site. If you need a hand, fill in the form below.

Use your free online notices

Another large benefit of partnering with us is the provision of free online notices for 6 months.

Many of you are already taking advantage of this great benefit. If you haven't yet, or haven't booked one in a while - here is a reminder of the benefits for you and your families.

How do I benefit from an online funeral notice?

Having notices on your own website attracts local people to visit who may not have searched for a Funeral Director site before; whilst reading tributes and making donations they will also see other services you offer such as funeral plans and memorials. In makes sense that by offering online notices to anyone not choosing a print notice, you will be helping to attract even more people to your website.

We know some families prefer to announce the passing of their loved one on social media.

By offering these families an online funeral notice, you are able to give them the lasting benefits of a static funeral notice - which can easily be shared on to the social media services of their choice.

Returning to a status on social media is often hard; scrolling down a wall and at the mercy of social media search bots.

An online funeral notice is easy to bookmark to a phone, iPad or laptop and may be returned to time and time again, whenever and wherever you choose. Every comment/tribute/photo/video and candle added to an online notice is moderated too, offering extra peace of mind that their notice remains in a safe space online.

Online notices are worth £30 + VAT. During your free trial you will understand the benefit of this nominal charge to families, providing them with an online tribute for a fraction of the cost of a newspaper notice.

How do families benefit from an online notice?

Online notices are perfect for families who decide not to have a newspaper notice, for whatever reason. Perhaps the family have lived in numerous locations across the UK or maybe they are keeping their funeral arrangements to a minimum and are not including a notice. Offering them an online notice allows them to benefit from an online donation facility and create a lasting place to keep memories, photos and tributes to their loved one.

Thank you for choosing to be an Online Partner of ours - if you have any questions please get in touch.
