The Use and Benefits of QR Codes for Funeral Notices

QR codes are available for every notice on funeral-notices.co.uk. These QR codes are a powerful tool to enhance the experience of funeral directors and the bereaved families you support.

These QR codes serve multiple purposes. They not only offer a streamlined way to raise awareness and gather contributions for charitable collections but also aim to boost the number of heartfelt tributes made to a loved one on their notice.

What is a QR Code?

Scan the QR code with a smart phone
A QR code, which stands for Quick Response Code, is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned using a smartphone or a QR code reader. This scanning process provides a swift and direct route for users to access encoded information or perform specific actions.

By creating a bridge between printed and online information, QR codes provide an easy way for individuals to access and interact with additional details, tribute pages, or charitable collections. A simple scan of the QR code allows mourners to connect with a world of shared memories, heartfelt messages, and opportunities to honour their loved ones.

Each funeral notice generates a unique QR code. This code displays the corresponding notice on the user's mobile screen when scanned.

How Can You Maximise the Use of QR Codes?

To help people pay tribute or donate in memory of a loved one, you can incorporate the QR code into the Order of Service design, print it out and include it within or place it near the collection box if online donations are being collected through the notice.

This facilitates attendees at the funeral to make donations, even if they do not have cash. If the family does not utilise the online donation service on their notice, the QR code can still raise awareness and encourage additional tributes.

Once the notice is booked, you will receive the QR code in a separate email. You can then send this email, featuring the pre-designed page, to your Order of Service provider to include or print out for distribution at the funeral. The pre-designed page includes instructions on how to use the QR code. Each QR code provides a direct link to the corresponding notice.

How to Access QR Codes

If you want to receive the QR code email, contact us, and we will activate it. You'll then receive a QR code via email for every notice you book. If your organisation has multiple branches, we can activate it at the branch level, so only those branches wanting to use the service will receive the emails.

Alternatively, you can find the QR code in your booking history on our self-serve booking system anytime. Click on 'Your Booking History' to see the prompt 'Get QR Code' on the right-hand side beneath the price breakdown. Click on that and download the QR code.

To start receiving a QR code via email for every notice you publish, please complete the form at the bottom of this article, and we will be in touch. Alternatively, you can call the team on 03444 060276 or email fdteam@funeral-notices.co.uk

If you need help accessing QR codes from your booking history, just let us know, and we will arrange a time to discuss it.

We hope you continue to find the QR code feature helpful and that your families and their chosen charities also benefit.
